About Dr. Chigozirim Ogar – Expert Dentist in Raleigh, NC
Dr. Chi understands exactly what patients feel like when they’re anxious or unsure at the dentist, because she experienced it herself. After a traumatic dental visit as a child, she set out to become a dentist and create a different kind of dental office.
After immigrating to the United States at 9 and navigating early challenges in a new country, she poured herself into education with determination and focus. She graduated from high school at 16 and college at 20. This remains one of her proudest moments, not just because of the academic accomplishment but because of the resilience it took to get there while adjusting to a new culture, language, and life. The same determination continues to shape the way she cares for her patients today, with empathy, patience, and clarity.

She has pursued extensive training and education and has built her practice around three values:

Dr. Chi believes every patient deserves high-quality dental care at every visit without fear, judgment, or confusion. She values transparency in every aspect of the process, ensuring patients always understand their options and feel fully supported. She brings a blend of warmth, clinical excellence, and modern technology to Luma Dental Studio, offering personalized care that helps patients maintain, improve, and enhance their smiles.
As a former Dental Director of a federally qualified health clinic, Dr. Chi led a full clinical team that included dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, front desk staff, and an office manager, and collaborated with medical, pharmacy, and other allied health teams. She oversaw all clinical operations, developed and enforced clinical policies, and ensured compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA and infection control. Under her leadership, the clinic consistently passed all regulatory inspections and secured grants for the underserved and uninsured local homeless population in Raleigh. Her experience managing a large team and maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality continues to shape the patient-centered care she delivers today at Luma Dental Studio.
