Signs You May Need Wisdom Teeth Removal

You might need to have your wisdom teeth extracted if you have any of the following symptoms:

• Something is hurting at the back of your mouth.
• One of your wisdom teeth has deteriorated or developed cavities.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction Process

Before surgery, Dr. Chi will inspect your wisdom teeth and take dental X-rays. She will also offer options for sedation to help ensure the surgery is as comfortable as possible.

Next, Dr. Chi gives you anesthesia before cutting through your gums to reveal your impacted wisdom teeth. Then, the wisdom teeth are carefully removed from their socket. If your particular case requires it, Dr. Chi will cut each wisdom tooth into pieces so they can be removed more easily. The holes left by the wisdom teeth in your gums will then be closed with stitches to stop the bleeding.

Dr. Chi will provide post-operative instructions after surgery. She will also advise on wound care, medication, and what to eat. To promote healing, you should get as much rest as you can.
